It's hilarious to me when people use the term "sheep". As if they have some sort of insight that only they possess. It seems nowadays that its the masses that use this term, and by masses, I mean morons, and vice versa. It's the latest trend to "Think for yourself, question authority". Anyway, this cartoon that whatshisface put up says it better then I ever could.

I'll point out now that personal bashing, such as calling people morons throughout an entire thread, is against the forum rules. Not that we aren't all guilty of getting a little worked up some times and doing the same.

Forum rules aside though, even if you had an argument, you do it a disservice by not providing references to peer reviewed studies and calling those who question your internet sources morons. The burden of proof is on you to prove your point. Linking to a random website does not do that. If people question your internet sources, go to the studies those people used, determine if they seem credible or were taken in the proper context and offer those up to back your point. If you can't do that then you have no argument and no matter how many people you refer to as sheep and morons that won't change.

It's perhaps the truest sign of someone who is unable to defend their position when they resort to name calling in defense of their ideas.

Let's see -

1. As usual, the insults were hurled at me first in this thread, immediately after the thread was started last night. Squawking about "personal bashing" now is blatant hypocrisy.

2. My position is easily defensible, and has been here and in the previous flu thread many, many times.

3. The links I've posted were not "random", and in fact are quite credible, IF the ignorant poster's here would only bother to check them instead of dismissing them out-of-hand.

4. Because some simply refuse to accept those facts, does not lend credence to their attempts to shoot the messenger for the message.
