I just ordered the golf bag case, the basic hard plastic one. Found it on eBay NEW for $60 w/shipping. Couldn't pass it up.

Will post pics when it arrives.

You can get an On Stage DHB6500 for about 114.00 ea....or you can get a 46 inch Kaces hardware bag for 80.00.
So, an internet shopper can get 2 wheeled cases that he can easily transport and lift into a vehicle with tons of room for his stuff for $160 to $230.00. The better of the 2 is the On stage, and you can get it for 114.00 shipping included and no tax on the internet.
Be very leary with the Kaces bag. I had three of these and all three split at the seams with a normal hardware load. (All Gibraltar lightweight stands, 2-3 booms, snare stand, hi-hat stand, FT legs, tom arm, throne, and pedal) I have had all three for less than a year. Granted, I gig 3-5 times a week but still... For club gigs I went back to my trusty Tuxedo hardware bag that I've had for years and has yet to fail me. It doesn't have wheels, but I've got a cart I use to put everything on.
For gigs where I use a larger setup, I use SKB cases. I switched earlier this year from Humes & Berg. The H&B were just not on the same level as the SKB cases are. My TrapX1 can hold my DR501 with extension, 5 booms, S1000, H1000, tom arms, FT legs, throne, and stick bag and still has room for more.
While I'm sure there are less expensive cases to hold hardware, as a working profesional I need to know that my cases can be tossed into a truck, packed under hundreds of pounds of other gear, dropped off the back and still keep my gear in perfect condition. I trust SKB to provide me with this kind of protection.
